Fair Wind Cruises

Since 1971, family owned & operated Fair Wind Cruises has been crafting unforgettable snorkel
tours to Kealakekua Bay and along the south Kona Coast, focusing on fun and
eco-sustainability. Our mission is to malama (care for) the island and the world we live in,
fostering mindful experiences for our guests and promoting conscious operational initiatives. At
Fair Wind, we embrace environmental kuleana (responsibility) and leadership to inspire pono
(righteous) solutions for healthier coral reefs, oceans, and the planet. In line with our mission,
our environmental efforts include recycling, fueling our three vessels with biodiesel made on
Hawai’i Island, providing reef-safe sunscreen to our customers, eliminating single-use plastics
on our tours, offering paid volunteer staff time, composting green waste from our kitchen and
tours, and serving a 100% plant-based menu, much of which was grown on our company farm
or locally sourced within our community. By sharing our love and passion for the environment
and Hawaiian history, our guests leave with cherished memories of breathtaking landscapes
and marine life, along with a deeper understanding of sustainability and the rich cultural heritage
of the local area.
